While an intensified empowered snowball, deals as much damage as an intensified fireball, it only deals it to a single target.Īs a treat, you might look at the metamagic master trait (former wayang spellhunter). As a blaster feats like spell focus(evoc), Varisian tattoo(evoc) and spell specialization, are your friends. Snowball is a great spell (and I am one of those that dislike it utterly), but doesn't really come into consideration for me for a blaster sorcerer: Changing between cone and line grants some versatility on the spot (although you won't be casting from a long distance). A spell that can deal any energy type, in it self, is just gorgeous. I am quite fond of Dragon's Breath for blasty happiness. I'd suggest Fireball, if it hadn't been ruled out in this case. Is one definitely better than the other? Are there other spells I should be looking at? But Freezing Ray is an auto debuff compared to Snowball's relatively low save. Resist Cold takes a -15 point hit whereas Snowball is only -5. Rime Freezing Ray - 3x 4d6+8 (22 damage average per ray / 66 damage average total). Intensified Snowball - 10d6+20 Cold (55 damage average) to one target and Fort Save (usually pretty low DC) or Staggered for 1 round. Metamagic Feats I'm thinking about are Intensify Spell, Rime Spell, Silent Spell, Still Spell, and Disruptive Spell.Īfter Bloodline Arcana I figure the following: The spells I'm weighing are currently Snowball and Scorching Ray (Cold b/c of Primal bloodline). I'm trying to figure out what would the best spell be for the Magical Lineage based on the following criteria:Ĭrossblooded Sorcerer - Draconic (Silver) & Elemental Primal (Cold). None of these options are really great compared to what the 3rd level spell could do instead, but they strike me as some of the better options.Currently brainstorming ideas for a blasty-sorcerer that will probably move into Dragon Disciple. This spell will likely do less damage than a 3rd level spell, but a 3rd level spell and a quickened first level spell are more damage than just the 3rd. Pumping out more damage in round one means the enemy is less likely to survive to attack again. Sadly the people most hurt by this spell tend to have high fort saves. Too bad it's been nerfed from it's 3.5 days but it's still a useful spell, especially if you actually run encumberence. While pn the debuff train, Ray of Enfeeblement. If your GM lets you ignore the goblin only this makes for an interesting opening. As useful as a third level spell? Not really. That being said if you insist on doing this, there's a few that stand out.ĭefensive spells, there is something to be said about having Vanish ready in an instant, being able to toss a Burning Hands at a group of enemies, swift action Vanish and move away could be useful. /r/3d6 - For character creation, advice and sharing (system agnostic)Īs stated, I don't think I would./r/Battlemaps - For your VTT battlemap requirements./r/Tabletop - For your general tabletop gaming shenanigans./r/lfg - Looking For Group, find other players, etc./r/RPG - For general, non-Pathfinder related RPG discussion./r/Starfinder_rpg - For dedicated discussion of Paizo's Science Fantasy system and setting./r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker - To discuss the Owlcat-made computer RPGs./r/Pathfinder2e - For dedicated Second Edition discussion./r/Pathfinder - For Pathfinder Society Organization/Discussion.Other subreddits you might be interested in: Fillable character sheets and intelligent character builders.
